WIP Wednesday - Peacock & Oyster Pot Holder

Since I ventured into the dish cloth realm of crocheting, I decided I needed a matching potholder. I had pinned a really pretty motif potholder a few weeks back. I really loved the color combo and thought maybe one day. The pin took me to this blog, Finding Clarity. Which in turn, sent me to the original pattern on this online PDF. Whew, it was a lot of internet surfing, but I attained a really pretty pattern for a matching pot holder.

I haven't yet completed the center motif. The pattern is a two sided pot holder (of course you don't want to burn yourself or counter top), so I still need to do the backing and then join the two sides with that lovely border.

I have also began joining my African Flower Squares! Yay, I am nearing the home stretch. I decided to only make 24 more squares. I was allowing this project to become much bigger than it was suppose to be, so I stopped myself and began the joining process. I hope to show the finished blanket soon!

Please take a moment and hop, surf, click (you know the drill) over to Tami's Amis blog and check out other WIP for this Wednesday! Check back on Friday for my FO on the pot holder.

  2. Oh, I love your projects! The potholder is gorgeous...looks like something you should frame instead! LOL! The cloth and pot holder together would make a lovely gift! You do very nice work too. I can't wait to see the blanket.

  3. Thanks everyone. I hope mine turns out as lovely as Finding Clarity's. So far my backing is a little wonky. Could be I added too many double crochet stitches, so it isn't laying flat. Might just need to block it once it is done. Thanks again for the lovely comments.
